Honoring Sandy Hook & Newtown
Today, I sat down to put together another cute Elf on the Shelf Idea board but I couldn't. There was something more pressing on my mind and in my heart. Like so many Americans, I cannot get the recent tragedy off my mind. I lose sleep thinking that the victims were somebody's babies. The thought is unimaginable, yet, it is a reality....a nightmare. We are all wondering what we can do. Last night, I saw an amazing story on the news that inspired this idea. God has placed it in my heart to combine my passion of designing and my compassion and empathy for Newtown to create something. Here is a printable card for everyone to share. The idea behind it is simple. Print and cut out these cards. Then, perform a random act of kindness and leave this card behind. Share these cards with your friends and coworkers. Here are a few ideas: buy someone in the drive thru coffee, pay a toll, open a door, move someone's garbage can to the road, write a thank you note, bake someone a treat, look for something someone needs fixed or help with, rake leaves, leave a stranger a Christmas card on their car, leave coupons behind at the store for someone to find, take an office donuts, put change by the vending machine, or donate items to children or elderly in need. Let this recent tragedy enlighten us to how we should treat and protect our family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. Please continue to pray for those in need to heal and take one more breath while missing their loved ones. Do you want to share any random act of kindness ideas?
